About
Geri Erickson
My name is Geri…I was a CFO in my previous life, and am currently a Mandala Artist and creator of Center Peace Art. Initially I was so drawn to this art form, I just knew I needed to learn more about it…how to create this beautiful art. While painting, I learned that my typically very busy mind got very quiet, much needed quiet. Mandalas are a sacred symbol used in meditation, healing and prayer. Every mandala is unique and hand painted and no two are identical. Each comes from a flow state of allowing the mandala to unfold and become what it is meant to be. Creating mandalas has truly brought me peace at the center of who I am.

What is a Mandala?

A mandala is a symbol of the universe in its ideal form, and its creation signifies the transformation of a universe of suffering into one of joy. It can also be used as an aid to meditation, helping the meditator to envision how to achieve the perfect self. The circle represents wholeness, totality, infinity, timelessness, and unity. In Sanskrit, mandala translates to “sacred center” or “circle.” In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness. There are various types of mandalas found in different cultures and used for a multitude of purposes, both artistically and spiritually.
